Listawood are thrilled to annouce the receipt of their ‘Employer of the Year’ award from the first British Promotional Merchandise Associations Annual conference in July.
BPMA chairman Gordon Glenister said he was "truly delighted that Listawood have won this award”, adding, “I know the judges were impressed with their forward thinking approach to employee engagement".
It is specifically thought that the receipt of this award was defined by a compassionate stance to workplace flexibility, combined with a progressive approach to vocational training and education. As a ‘Gold Investor in People’, Listawood are proud to have been used as an example of good employment practice in government white papers and case studies prior to accepting recognition from the BPMA.
Employing around 150 staff at a custom built facility, the firm was recently featured on ITV’s Daybreak. Here highlighting how employers can work successfully with their employees to manage both work and home commitments. Together with the likes of PwC, BT, British Gas, Sainsbury and more, Listawood are members of the leadership group of Employers for Carers; a body which influences government policy and employment practice pursuit of a culture which supports carers in and into work.
Implementing this wealth of measures in a small business environment has its challenges, but for HR Manager Nikki Dennis, the benefits far outweigh the challenges: “It is not too difficult to maintain an infrastructure that empowers staff; it would be much more problematic to lose skilled staff to other businesses”. She further commented, “While it’s great to be recognized with this BPMA award, our customers are the real winners as our satisfied staff will go that extra mile for them”.
This accolade is the third major recognition received in recent months. Listawood were named Encore’s “Supplier of the year” in May, and also received a "Commended” certificate from Advantage group at their own recent Supplier of the Year Award ceremony.
